Shaw CarpetShaw Carpet always has been the leading edge carpet producer for change.
When they first purchased Cabin Crafts carpet in 1988, the carpet industry
Shaw Carpet has always manufactured some of the most beautiful and most durable carpet styles on the market. Where Shaw Carpet was truly unique was in changing the way manufacturers marketing their products. Most Carpet manufacturers, chose a few carpet retailers in a market area and limited their distribution of their product lines to those select retailers. This produced higher profit margins for local retailers and higher prices for consumers. Shaw changed the carpet industry's distribution plan by selling every retailer in a market area, thus creating competition and lowering retail prices. With increased sales came increased carpet production and economies of scale. Shaw soon became the low-cost carpet producer since they dealt in such large volume. Shaw carpet could actually load yarn on a tufting machine and run the same style for weeks without changing the yarn system. Spinning plants could process these same years for weeks on end with little or no downtime in changing to other yarns. Other competitors were forced to lower their prices to meet Shaw carpet prices and many struggled to survive. This produced the carpet manufacturer buy-out craze as weaker producers sold out to stronger producers. Beaver Carpets Dalton Flooring Wholesaler 800-628-2206
